Crock Pot Apple Brown Betty

4 c bread cubes
1/2 c     margarine, melted
1 tsp     cinnamon
1/4 tsp  nutmeg
1/8 tsp  salt
3/4 c     brown sugar
6 large baking apples, peeled & sliced

Combine bread cubes with butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt & brown sugar. Arrange in layers with apples in slow cooker. Cook on high for 2 hours or until apples are tender. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream. Serves 5.
