Hot and Spicy Crock Pot Meatballs
2 lbs ground beef
4 slices dry bread made into crumbs
2 tbsp minced onion
1 tsp ground horseradish
2 or more drops hot pepper sauce
2 eggs, beaten
dried parsley flakes to taste
3/4 c applesauce
salt and pepper to taste
Vegetable oil for frying
3/4 c ketchup
1/2 c water
1/4 c cider vinegar
2 tbsp light brown sugar
1 tbsp minced onion
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp dry mustard
pinch cayenne pepper
3 drops hot pepper sauce
Combine the beef, bread crumbs, onion, horseradish, 2 drops hot sauce, eggs, parsley, applesauce, salt/pepper in a bowl; mix thoroughly. Form in to small balls. Heat the oil in a large skillet. Add meatballs and brown; transfer to crockpot. Combine the ketchup, water, vinegar, brown sugar, onion, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, cayenne pepper and 3 drops hot sauce in a bowl. Pour over the meatballs and cook on High for 1 hour. Reduce to low and cook for 4 hours. Serves 10.
