Lazy Day Crock Pot Stew
1 1/2 lbs stewing meat
1/4 c all purpose flour
2 large onions, chopped
3 large potatoes, cubed
4 large carrots, chopped
3 cloves of minced garlic
pepper to taste
1/2 c shredded cabbage
1 1/2 c diced turnips
3 c. water
1 1/4 c. bouillon
1 (14oz) can tomato sauce
1 tsp dried oregano
1 bay leaf
1/2 tsp grated orange zest
Toss beef in flour and add both to slow cooker. Add onions, potatoes, carrots, garlic, pepper, cabbage, turnips, water, bouillon, tomato sauce, thyme, oregano, bay leaf and orange zest. Cook on low for 4 hours. Remove and discard bay leaf. Serves 8.
